A photographic exhibition titled “Light on the Move” will be presented at the Museum of Cycladic Art in Athens between October 26-31. The exhibition is being organized by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the United Nation’s migration body.

Photographs taken by the Jordanian photojournalist Muhammed Muheisen will be featured at the exhibition. Muhesein is a Pulitzer-winning photojournalist, with a career of covering major events in Asia, the Middle East, Europe, Africa and the United States since 2001.

In the interview with State-run Athens-Macedonia News Agency, Muhesein described his experience photographing refugees, migrants and people displaced from their homelands for over 10 years.

“There is no better way than a photo to tell a story,” he said. “A photo carries the reality, the exact time when something happened, and as a photojournalist it is my responsibility to tell all these stories through my photos.”

Muhesein added that “refugees are people like the rest of us. They have homes, hopes, names and ages.”
