Greece’s Defense Minister Panos Kammenos is in Russia as part of a two-day official visit, spanning Monday and Tuesday.
On Monday, prior to meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergei Shoigu, Kammenos visited the memorial of the unknown soldier in central Moscow, accompanied by Lieutenant General Selezenev, military commander of Moscow.
Kammenos later held talks with Russian officials regarding the issue of military cooperation between the two countries.
According to Russia’s Sputnik news agency, stated following his meeting with Shoigu that “Greece has had a strategic partnership with Russia for many years, while also using weapons systems produced by the Russian defense industry. We are maintaining them in working condition and would like to discuss ways in which we can continue our cooperation.”
