Two Earthquakes Hit Greece's Ionian Sea on Sunday

The main port at Zakynthos was damaged from the first earthquake on Oct. 26.

Two earthquakes in quick succession on Sunday jolted the Ionian Sea and Islands in an area that has seen a spike in seismic activity over recent days.
The first measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale struck at 5:11 a.m. local time 78 kilometers (48 miles) south of Zakynthos.
The second which followed seven minutes later was stronger, measuring 5 on the Richter scale.
Its epicenter was 59 kilometers (36 miles) southwest of Zakynthos.
Spike in seismic activity in the Ionian Sea over the last 24 hours

There are no reports of damage or injury.
Zakynthos was close to the epicenter of a strong 6.4-magnitude quake on Oct. 26.
