Katsifas' Funeral in Vouliarates on Thursday

Eleven days after his death, Konstantinos Katsifas‘ funeral is scheduled to take place in Bularat (Vouliarates) village on Thursday, November 8 at 1 o’clock local time.
The body of the 35-year-old Greek man, who was killed after an exchange of gunfire with the Albanian police and special forces on October 28, was turned over to his father and sister in Albania’s capital, Tirana, on Tuesday.
It is noted that the Archbishop of Albania, Anastasios, issued an appeal on Tuesday, calling the Albanian authorities to hand over Katsifas’ body to the family, following a delay of more than a week.
Groups of people from all over Greece are expected to travel to the village of Vouliarates in order to attend Katsifa’s funeral, with buses already being booked from Athens, Thessaloniki, Larissa and Lefkada.
The family’s new lawyer, Alexandros Lykourezos, said on Monday that the deliberate delay by the Albanian authorities was an insult to the memory of the dead man.
