Cyprus President in Paris to Commemorate WWI Centennial

The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades, traveled to Paris on Thursday evening in order to attend commemoration events for the centennial of the armistice ending WWI. He is there at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron, who will also participate in the Paris Peace Forum.
President Anastasiades will also participate in the forum, where United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres and German Chancellor Angela Merkel will be key speakers, among others.
The Cypriot President will also attend an event at the Arc de Triomphe, where the French President will deliver a speech, and has been invited to a luncheon hosted by Macron in the honor of heads of state or government who will be present at the events at the French capital.
A total of 85 heads of state or government and their spouses have been invited to the events.
