Greek Derby Ends in a Draw; Atromitos Sinks AEK

Eternal rivals Olympiacos and Panathinaikos shared a point each after the 1-1 draw at Piraeus on Sunday evening.
Panathinaikos took the lead just after the hour mark with a spectacular volley by Ergys Kace, and Olympiacos found the equalizer five minutes into the time added-on via Pape Abou Cisse.
Atromitos is practically left alone in the chase for the leader of PAOK, by virtue of its 2-0 win at champion AEK with two last-gasp goals from Spyros Risvanis and Efthymis Koulouris.
Last season, Atromitos were the Super League’s surprise package with a run to fourth place in the standings; however Damir Canadi’s men seem intent on bettering that record.
PAOK held on to the leadership of the SuperLeague on Sunday after grinding out a hard-fought 2-1 home win over a spirited Panaitolikos side at the Toumba in Thessaloniki.
In other games over the weekend:
Larissa Fc 2 – 0 PAS Giannina
Xanthi FC 0 – 1 Panionios
Levadiakos 2 – 1 OFI Crete
Lamia 0 – 0 Asteras Tripolis
On Monday Apollon Smyrnis hosts Aris in Athens.
