Greek tennis star Stefanos Tsitsipas who won the Next Gen ATP Finals in Italy on Saturday was named as the most improved player of 2018 by the ATP World Tour Awards.
The young Greek star, and number one seed, completed a perfect run through the tournament with a 2-4, 4-1, 4-3(3), 4-3(3) victory over the 19-year-old de Minaur.
In October, 20-year-old Tsitsipas brought home Greece’s first ATP crown from the Stockholm Open, after knocking out Latvia’s Ernests Gulbis.
He is the youngest player ranked in the top 20 by the ATP and has a career-high ranking of No 15 in the world.
