Mysterious Disappearance of 100 Greek/FYROM Border Markers

Greek police have launched an investigation to identify those responsible for removing 105  markers at the border line between the nations of Greece and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM).
Some of the approximately one meter (three feet) tall pyramid-shaped stone markers, as well as some smaller cylinders, were reportedly removed from their foundations between Thursday and Friday. They had been standing along a 13-kilometer (eight-mile) section of the border between the villages of Mesokampos and Achlada near the town of Florina, Greece.
The Athens-Macedonia News Agency reports that local judicial and military authorities in the area have been alerted.
