Northern Greece Braces for Heavy Snowfall

Heavy snowfall is expected in northern Greece, even at low altitudes, during Thursday and Friday according to the Meteo weather service of the National Observatory of Athens.
According to the weather service, light snow may also fall in southern Greece.
Snow coverage in Europe will be extensive over the next few days as cold air masses coming from the north pole spread over the continent.
The entire nation of Greece will be hit by the cold weather, but effects will be felt primarily in northern Greece. So far the effects of the polar weather system appear to be less severe in Greece than in Central Europe, where snow and low temperatures will create major problems until Saturday.
Meteo has also released a video with the newest satellite forecast on snow coverage, including maps on the estimated snowfall throughout Europe in the next several days.
