Kammenos Warns ''We Will Crush'' Turkey

In response to the recent series of incursions and airspace violations committed by Turkish fighter jets over several Greek islands in the eastern Aegean Sea, Greek Defense Minister Panos Kammenos sternly warned Turkey against further violations of the country’s integrity in the Aegean.
During a visit to a military unit on the small island of Leros, Kammenos declared that ”if they make the slightest move, we will crush them”, adding later that Greece wants peace and harmony, ”but we are not prepared to concede a single centimeter of our land.”
The Greek Defense Minister noted that the Turks had better stick to verbal threats when making further provocations rather than carrying out physical confrontations, implying that further tensions would lead to uncharted waters in the relations between the two countries.
Kammenos’ remarks were made on the same day that Turkey repeatedly violated Greek airspace over the island complex of Kastelorizo, and several days after Turkish jets made similar passes over the island of Ouiousses earlier in the week.
