Snow laid a beautiful blanket of white along the Chalkida seashore on the island of Evia on Tuesday, as the cold front named “Telemachos” swept across Greece.
Heavy snowfall overnight hit the island of Evia, the Sporades islands and eastern parts of Central Greece.
The Meteo weather service at the National Observatory of Athens has warned that snow may continue to fall at very low altitudes all over the eastern parts of the country, accompanied by very strong northerly winds.
Heavy snow also fell in the center of Athens during the night on Monday.
Extensive frost, with below-zero temperatures throughout the day, is expected in central and northern parts of the country on Tuesday morning.
