Athens Hosts Huge Cannabis Exhibition

More than 150 cannabis exhibitors from Greece and abroad participated in the Athens Cannabis Expo 2019 held at the Tae Kwon Do stadium in Faliro that runs till Jan. 13.

As Greece turns to medical cannabis as a means of generating much-needed revenue, Athens is hosting the three-day event — backed by the government — to drum up interest in the substance.

The purpose of the event is to inform the public about all the products and innovations that exist in the world of cannabis and the latest achievements in the medical, pharmaceutical and industrial use of cannabis.

Innovative companies that are active in the cannabis sector showcased many different products and services such as CBD (Cannabidiol), cosmetics, cocktails, seeds, medical, vaporizers, clothing and many more.

In November, the Greek government issued the first two licenses for the cultivation and processing of medical cannabis.

Greece legalized the use of cannabis for medical purposes last year and lifted a ban on growing and producing it in March.
