Tennis star Rafael Nadal reached an agreement with Halkidiki’s Sani resort on Thursday to create the ”Rafa Nadal Tennis Center” in the popular summer destination in northern Greece.
According to the state-run AMNA news agency, the agreement provides for the creation of eight clay courts, as well as training programs for players of all ages and levels. This will provide high-quality training in the sport to the local population as well as tourists from all over the world.
The visitors will have the opportunity to learn about and try to emulate Nadal’s playing skills through programs which are specially tailored to their needs and skill level.
Programs for the new ”Rafa Nadal Tennis Center” at the Sani Resort have already been developed through a training system based on the playing experience of Nadal himself and  training techniques designed by his personal coaches.
The coaches for the Nadal center will be trained before they arrive in Greece in the Spanish town of Manacor in Majorca. Their training program will last for two months and begin in February.
Nadal said that he is very happy to announce the opening of his new tennis academy in Greece, noting that ”it establishes the project of the world expansion of the center”.
The Spanish star warmly thanked the Sani Resort for the trust it has placed in his team. He added that “I am certain our cooperation will be successful, especially for fans of tennis, whom I would like to invite to come and enjoy these magnificent facilities as of April, 2019.”
Sani is a popular luxury tourist destination in Macedonia’s Halkidiki prefecture. The town already has an extensive infrastructure for visitors and attracts thousands of visitors annually.
