Drone Video of Demonstration Casts Doubt on Police Estimates

Footage of the Macedonia demonstration in Athens on Sunday, taken by a drone flying above Syntagma Square, casts doubt on official estimates of the number of people who took part in the action.

Police said approximately sixty thousand people gathered at Syntagma Square, opposite the parliament building, to demonstrate against the Prespa Agreement with the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.

However, organizers and independent observers said the actual number was at least double that figure.

They say that the crowd, as clearly seen from above in drone footage, had taken over the entire square and most of the adjoining streets leading to Syntagma.
