On Friday, during a meeting of the Council for Foreign Affairs and Defense (KYSEA) chaired by Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, Lieutenant General Christos Christodoulou was appointed as the new chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff (GEETHA).
The appointment comes following the former chief, Evangelos Apostolakis, leaving the post to become Defense Minister.
Other new appointments are as follows:
Lieutenant General Georgios Kampas has been appointed as the chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff (HAGS), while Vice Admiral Nicolaos Tsounis will remain chief of the Hellenic Navy General Staff, and newly appointed as new chief of the Hellenic Air Force is Lieutenant General Georgios Blioumis.
