Greece Beats Liechtenstein 2-0 in European Cup Qualifiers Opening Game (video)

Kostas Fortunis ready to score against Liechtenstein

Two goals from Kostas Fortounis and Anastasios Donis gave Greece a 2-0 win over Liechtenstein in the 2020 European Cup Qualifiers Group J in Vaduz on Saturday night.

The Greek national team dominated throughout the opening game of the qualifiers tournament with a total 30 shots on goal. However, only Fortounis and Donis managed to put the ball in the net, in 45′ and 80′ respectively.

The game was not without a misfortune for the Greek national team, though. In the 21st minute of the game, striker Kostas Mitroglou walked off the field with an injury that won’t allow him to play in the next game.

Greece will play against Bosnia on Tuesday for the second match of the qualifying round.
