An unfortunate incident took place in Central Greece’s Trikala prison on Friday, when an inmate tragically died after a fight he had with a fellow prisoner.
According to the state-run AMNA news agency, by the time police authorities found the 60-year old prisoner and transported him to a nearby hospital, the man had passed away.
Onlookers were quoted in media reports saying that the death occurred as a result of a quarrel. The sixty-year-old inmate hit his head as he was having a physical altercation with the other inmate.
After hitting his head, he then fell to the floor, where he was found by the guards.
An autopsy is expected to take place soon to determine the exact causes of the death.
