Three people were found dead and another individual was seriously injured early on Sunday local time in the gorge of Agios Lucas (Saint Lucas) near the Greek city of Corinth.
A group of four people consisting of a couple from Singapore, a hiking trainer and his assistant were attempting on Saturday to cross the beautiful gorge of Agios Lucas in the area of Xylocastro near the city of Corinth.
However, very soon, every single person in the group went missing.
The wife of one of the missing men, who had gone together with the Singaporean couple to the gorge, was worried because her husband didn’t return her calls.
She called the local police and fire service and informed them that her husband had gone missing. A search operation soon began in the area around the gorge.
After hours of searching, the members of the fire service’s special unit EMAK spotted the unfortunate group of hikers.
Both the Singaporean couple and their trainer were found dead.
The trainer’s assistant was found wounded but alive, in a location which was inaccessible.
Since then, the rescuers have been trying to reach the exact spot where the wounded man is lying injured, but unfortunately they have not met with any success yet.
