The “Flying Priest” was for another year the star of the First Resurrection service on Chios, attracting viewers from across Greece on television and social media.
The faithful sent the message of the First Resurrection at the Holy Church of Panagia Evangelistria of Chios, while father Christoforos Gourlis came hopping out of the sanctuary.
The church was “shaken” by the ringing of the bells marking the victory of the divine over death, while the clergyman nicknamed “The flying priest” for his joyful antics, threw handfuls of bay leaves over the faithful.
