A deadly incident in Greece’s Trikala prison was made public on Wednesday.
An inmate of the prison who was Albanian national was attacked by two Russian inmates during the early hours of May Day and was killed immediately.
The two Russian nationals created a sharp-edged object with which they stabbed their fellow inmate in the chest, the legs and the abdomen.
The assault took place outside the prison’s clinic.
The victim was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, only to be pronounced dead.
At this moment, no further details on the incident have been released by the authorities.
It is noted that this is the second deadly incident in the same prison in less than one month.
On April 12, a 60-year old inmate tragically died, hitting his head after a fight he had had with a fellow prisoner.
