Giannis Antetokounmpo Offers to Build Basketball Court in Wildfire-Hit Rafina, Greece

NBA phenomenon Giannis Antetokounmpo offered to finance the creation of a basketball arena in Rafina, Attica, Mayor Evangelos Bournus revealed recently.
The revelation was made by journalist Dimitris Kottaridis, who posted on his Facebook profile on Sunday that during a pre-election speech, the mayor of Rafina had said that Antetokoumpo reached out to the municipal authorities of Rafina. The Milwaukee Bucks star offered his own monies to finance the construction of a basketball court in memory of the 102 victims of the deadly fires of July, 2018.
According to Kottaridis, the mayor disclosed that the arena will be built inside the boundaries of a new 3,000-square-meter ecology theme park which is scheduled to be created near the Blé Limanaki (Little Blue Port) area in Rafina.
Mayor Bournus said that after the arena is finished, he would like to name it after Antetokounmpo, who offered an enormous amount of money to help the municipality which suffered so much from the wildfires that struck East Attica last summer.
At this time, Antetokounmpo has not made any public comments on his generous offer to the city of Rafina.
