Free Scooter Rides Offered in Greece During EU Elections To Boost Participation

The European Elections will be held across the 28 nations of the EU from Thursday, May 23 until Sunday, May 26

US-based company Lime, which operates motorized scooters, announced on Monday that it will provide up to 15 hours’ worth of urban rides free of charge on May 26, the day of the European Elections.
The decision of the American company will be implemented in Greece and ten other EU states to encourage people to vote in the European Parliamentary elections.
The company will offer free scooters and helmets in the cities of Athens and Thessaloniki in collaboration with the ”This Time I’m Voting” initiative of the EU. The project is aimed at boosting citizen participation on this important day for European democracy.
Those who are interested in taking advantage of this fitness-friendly and innovative idea should download the Lime app and get the free ”VOTEWITHLIME” code through the company’s newsletter on Sunday, before polls open across Europe.
The member states where the offer will be valid are most of those which will be holding their EU elections on Sunday. These include the nations of Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and of course, Greece.
Lime runs bicycle-, scooter-, and car-sharing systems in various cities around the world. It debuted its operation in Greece recently, beginning with the nation’s largest cities of Athens and Thessaloniki.
