Greek Restaurateur Saves Choking Customer in Dramatic Video

A Greek restaurant owner in Chania, Crete, saved the life of a customer who was choking last Saturday by applying an emergency procedure called the Heimlich maneuver.
Vasilis Patelakis posted the dramatic video on Facebook, with the purpose, he said, of informing and educating the public about the life-saving procedure, which is not difficult to do.
The video shows the man dining with a woman, and suddenly holding his chest as he tries to breathe. He looks like he is in agony as he stands up, holding his throat.
Patelakis is then seen rushing to the scene and applying the maneuver, instantly dislodging the food from the man’s windpipe with a sudden strong pressure applied oto his abdomen, between the navel and the ribcage.
