World's Safest Currency? New €100, €200 Banknotes Enter Circulation in Europe (video)

The new euro banknotes boast a series of sophisticated security features -ECB

The new €100 and €200 euro banknotes officially entered circulation across the Euro Area on May 28. The European Central Bank (ECB) can now pride itself for having developed some of the world’s most sophisticated security features for currency.
The new €100 and €200 banknotes are the last two of the new Europa series of euro banknotes, which have several new, enhanced and innovative security features, as well as a new look, compared to the previous versions.

The Europa series has retained the color scheme used in the first series of euro banknotes (green for €100 and yellow for €200), while the theme that depicts architectural styles from different periods of Europe’s cultural history has been modified slightly, according to the ECB.
The €500 banknote, one of the most valuable banknotes in the world, has been excluded from the Europa series, and they ceased issuance of it near the end of 2018.
Following the new developments, the EU’s currency now has six different denominations of  banknotes — €5, €10, €20, €50, €100 and €200.
Despite long-lasting calls to create a one-euro banknote, copying the famous one-dollar bill, the ECB decided not to go ahead with such a move.
The ECB has also released an impressive video showing how durable and strong the new banknotes are. Increased efforts have been made to extend their usable life by making them resistant to everyday mistakes, such as accidental ironing or washing.
