The 10 Most Famous Bars and Clubs on Mykonos

Mykonos is mostly known to international tourists as the Greek island of glitzy parties. Thousands of visitors arrive during the summer months knowing that they are going to get little to no sleep while there.
The island’s small town has grown over the years in order to accommodate the tourists who come every year.
Around midnight, the bars and clubs located in the town of Mykonos or the seaside start playing music, inviting anyone and everyone to join in with dancing and revelry. The party lasts all night and sometimes until the early hours, with clubs closing at around 7 AM — when the party moves to the beach.
Here are some of Mykonos’ most famous dining and drinking spots for good times, dancing and having fun in general:
Tropicana Beach Bar & Restaurant

We all know that Paradise Beach is a popular beach on the island and the Tropicana Beach Bar and Restaurant may be one of the many reasons why. An all-day place where you can begin your day with breakfast and coffee, then lunch on some tasty fare, you can also enjoy a never-ending beach party with a carefully curated DJ set and refreshing cocktails. The Tropicana may quickly become your new home away from home on Mykonos.
The Super Paradise Beach Club
This beach club is famous for its gay-friendly environment and spontaneous parties. The beach instantly takes on a club-like atmosphere, with people dancing, having fun, and enjoying their drinks under the sun.
Cavo Paradiso Club

Cavo Paradiso opened in 1993 and has become known for organizing the most amazing house music events ever since. It is currently one of the island’s hottest nightlife destinations, with a huge dance floor, a swimming pool and breathtaking views of the Aegean.
ASTRA Bar

Designed by the world-renowned artist Minas, the ASTRA is a trendy hotspot which incorporates retro decor and design under a dome resembling an observatory. Rather than opting for a huge space, the owner decided on quality over quantity, so the bar can only accommodate a small — but discerning — crowd.
The Scandinavian Bar

Located in the heart of the town, this is one of Mykonos’ oldest and most famous meeting places. People are invited to dance until the morning while enjoying fancy cocktails and drinks. The open-air disco dance floor is always full and attracts those who like high-energy music, while their patio area is for those who would rather relax and enjoy their libations under the stars.
The JackieO’

Just below the famous church of Paraportiani, the stunning location of the JackieO’ Bar-Mykonos is the perfect setting for sunset cocktails, pre-dinner drinks or to dance the night away. Nightly drag shows spice up the hottest party scene in town.
In 2013, a new addition was made to Mykonos‘s fabulous summer beach offerings with the JackieO‘ Beach Club in Super Paradise Bay.
The Babylon

Gay and straight clubbers alike flock to this renowned gay club, known for its fun themed nights, a good mix of oldies, the latest chart toppers, and techno music, as well as regular drag shows. The breezy sitting area overlooking the water is a peaceful spot to catch your breath and sip a cocktail after a few dances.
Scorpios

For those looking for an alternative to the other beach parties, Scorpios is the place to be. Set on Paraga Beach, this hedonistic beach club, which is also a restaurant, offers laidback beach fun, with excellent people-watching opportunities and superb cocktails, while at sundown, a curated line-up of local and international DJs lend their talent to memorable parties.
The Queen of Mykonos

Located steps away from the beautiful center of Chora, the Queen of Mykonos is an ideal setting for enjoying the vibrant local scene while sipping on your favorite cocktail and snacking on delicious appetizers.
In the evenings, this glam cocktail bar attracts the young and the beautiful, who cluster around the tall tables outside. The handcrafted signature cocktails are worth the splurge, particularly the ones featuring champagne.
Katerina’s

Arguably the restaurant-bar with the best view of the town of Mykonos. Katerina Xidaki’s business intuition prompted her to create Katerina’s Restaurant and Cocktail Bar by transforming her family house.
Having the huge advantage of its spectacular view of “Little Venice,” the two-story building is a must-visit for a delicious meal and drinks while taking in the views of the glittering town and its harbor.
