Two women on the Greek island of Kos joined forces to help a refugee woman from the island’s migrant center deliver her baby over the weekend.
According to news site aegeanews.gr, Kallotina Diakodimitriou spotted the refugee from Cameroon, who was in the latter stages of pregnancy, sitting outside a local supermarket in obvious discomfort.
She invited the woman to her home and called for an ambulance. When she was told that there was nothing available at the time, she then called her neighbor, a retired midwife, who delivered a healthy baby boy on the porch of Diakodimitriou’s house.

Eventually, the mother and her newborn were eventually transported to the local hospital for further treatment. Mother and baby are said to be doing well.
