Riots Erupt Among Inmates at Athens' Korydallos Prison

Widespread brawling among inmates erupted on Tuesday morning in Athens’ Korydallos Prison.
According to the first information available, the fights, which have also been termed as riots, began in two wings of the prison, the B and E sections.
Media reports suggest that some inmates had even managed to occupy the headquarters of the prison, and some of them have been wounded.
Two squads of Greece’s Riot Police, the MAT, have rushed to the site.
Korydallos Prison is comprised of both maximum-security and ordinary male and female sections, and is located in the Korydallos neighborhood of the city of Piraeus.
