Former Defense Minister Akis Tsochatzopoulos will have to return to jail, according to a court decision published on Monday.
The former Minister of consecutive PASOK governments, who was granted early release from prison in 2017, will have to return as his appeal was dismissed by Greece’s Supreme Court.
Along with Tsochatzopoulos, two more people involved in the case will have to return to jail.
In 2013, and after a long trial, Tsochatzopoulos was charged with receiving about €54 million in illegal bribes and was sentenced to twenty years in prison.
His wife, Vicky Stamati, and 17 of his accomplices were also sentenced to serve time.
