According to the Prime Minister’s office announcement:
“Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis had a telephone conversation tonight with United States President Donald Trump. The American President congratulated him on his election. For his part, Mr. Mitsotakis told Mr. Trump that the priority of the new Greek government is to fight bureaucracy and stimulate investment. The American President replied to the Greek Prime Minister that these were his goals too when he assumed his duties. The two men agreed on the need to continue and deepen the excellent relations between Greece and the United States.”
A few hours earlier, US Vice-President Mike Pence had also called the new Greek prime minister to congratulate him on his electoral victory. Their telephone conversation lasted for over 20 minutes and the two men discussed crucial issues and committed to strengthening US-Greece relations.
