Charles Pathé was a French pioneer of his time. He documented the world around him for many decades.
Fortunately, he passed from Crete in 1964 leaving a collection of amazing quality pictures that characterize the era when tourism began. Fishermen, tourists, villagers, beautiful windmills, women weaving on the loom, and men milking their sheep. Documenting the lives of Cretans and discussing its history.
Authentic and nostalgic pictures that take us to other times, not so distant but so different.
“This is Crete, a land with such a past that the past is ever present, carved into rock by man and by nature,” said Pathe.
