Angelopoulos Daskalaki to Head Greece's 2021 Bicentennial Committee

Gianna Angelopoulos Daskalaki was appointed on Wednesday to serve as the head of the committee in charge of Greece’s celebrations to mark the 2021 bicentennial of the country’s War of Independence.
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis welcomed Angelopoulos Daskalaki at Maximos Mansion in Athens, where he held a meeting with her to discuss the preparations for the momentous event.
”2021 will be a year when everyone in Greece will celebrate 200 years of freedom for the Greek state, with pride for our past and confidence in our future,” Misotakis told reporters after the meeting.
Angelopoulos Daskalaki thanked the prime minister and assured him that everyone on the committee will do their best to achieve this goal.
Angelopoulos Daskalaki is a Greek businesswoman who is best known as the president of the bidding and organizing committees for the 2004 Olympic Games, which were held in Athens.
