Earthquake Measuring 3.5 on Richter Scale Shakes Athens

According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center, an earthquake which shook  Attica on Thursday afternoon had a strength of 3.5 on the Richter scale.
The epicenter of the quake was located 24 km (15 miles) northwest of Athens, 5 kilometers (three miles) north of the town of Magoula.
The earthquake struck at 16:30 local time on Thursday had a focal depth of just 8 kilometers (five miles), which is considered quite shallow, making the quake feel especially strong despite its rather low measurement on the Richter scale.
Experts believe that the tremor is part of a normal aftershock pattern following the 5.1 Richter quake which hit Athens nine days ago.
