A large fire broke out on Friday afternoon on Mount Penteli in Athens.
The flames spread quickly on the mountain’s slopes and the fire is now close to the first houses in nearby neighborhoods.

A total of 33 fire fighters with 13 vehicles and four firefighting aircraft are currently battling the fire now.
Police in Penteli have already stopped traffic in Doukissis Placentias Street to avoid possible accidents, as thick smoke is now covering the area.
Earlier, another large fire broke out in Tanagra, north of Athens, in the county of Boeotia.
More than 50 fire fighters with twenty three vehicles and at least five aircraft have managed to contain of the fire, which is not threatening any nearby cities or towns at this time.
