Greece's Tsitsipas Beats Poland's Hurkacz in Davis Cup; PM Mitsotakis Among Spectators

Greek tennis superstar Stefanos Tsitsipas triumphed over Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz on Thursday at noontime during their Davis Cup match in Tatoi, Athens.
The result of today’s contest raises Greece’s chances of securing a position in the second category of the Euroafrican zone of the global tennis tournament.
Greece currently competes in the third category.
Tsitsipas won the match 2-0, bringing the overall score between the Greek and the Polish teams to 1-1. During the previous game for Greece, Michael Pervolarakis lost to Poland’s Kamil Majchrzak by 2-0.
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis was among today’s spectators, seen cheering on and supporting the efforts of the young Greek tennis phenomenon.
Mitsotakis watched the entire match and went to meet Tsitsipas in person after its conclusion.
The Greek Prime Minister spoke briefly with Tsitsipas and the rest of Greece’s national team, warmly congratulating all the members of the squad for their efforts as they represented their country at the tournament.
