Several people were slightly injured after consecutive explosions occurred in a military zone Thursday near the Turkish-occupied city of Kyrenia.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the explosions took place at an ammunition depot following a fire that began 30 minutes earlier.
The Turkish Cyprus leader Mustafa Akinci has sped to the scene. “It is pleasing that there was no loss of life in the explosions that occurred in the depot,” Akinci told reporters.
The area has been cordoned off and investigations for the causes of the fire and explosions have already begun.
