Greek Cypriot Mother and Daughter Arrested in the Occupied North

A Greek Cypriot woman and her daughter were arrested in the occupied north on Sunday  and are expected to appear before a military court on Monday, charged with taking photos in the town of Morphou.
According to Turkish Cypriot reports, the 52-year-old woman and her 20-year-old daughter entered the garden of the house in which she lived before 1974 and took photographs. An army officer now resides in her old family home.
Turkish Cypriot authorities also issued a statement regarding the incident, saying that the mother and daughter were arrested at 10 AM on Sunday for taking photos and videos in a military zone.
The Cyprus government has reportedly been informed of the arrest. The municipality of Morphou strongly condemned the incident on Monday morning.
