The young protesters at Syntagma Square joined their voices with millions of others who demonstrated at the same time around the world on September 20, using the hashtag #ClimateStrike global mobilization.
Large protests have been held in London, Paris, Rome, Madrid and many other cities around the globe.
The young Greek protesters participating in the worldwide student movement called ”Fridays For Future,” were demonstrating against what they view as the inadequate response to climate change by world leaders.

Some of the slogans heard were ”The climate is changing, why don’t we change too?” and ”Let’s act now,” while the students marched in central Athens.
The students held scores of placards, with slogans and messages both in Greek and English, with most of them taking either a very humorous or provocative tone.
Students across the globe are expected to repeat their action again next Friday, September 27.
