Internationally-acclaimed Greek fashion designer Mary Katrantzou and the organization “ELPIDA – Association of Friends of Children with Cancer” put on an impressive fashion show at Greece’s Cape Sounio, under the shadow of the Temple of Poseidon, on Thursday evening.
This was the first time the historic site on Cape Sounion has hosted a fashion show, as rules have understandably been exceptionally strict concerning what events are allowed to take place at Greece’s many landmarks.
Thursday’s philanthropic event, however, was allowed to take place due to its mission of helping children with cancer.
The visually stunning event offered some beautiful, unforgettable scenes, while it helped raise valuable funds for the work of ELPIDA, an organization that has assisted children with cancer in Greece for more than thirty years now, under the guidance of Marianna Vardinoyannis.

Katrantzou showcased her new Spring – Summer 2020 collection, comprised of outfits with bold, colorful patterns and a great many references to Ancient Greece.
The lovely music for the night was taken care of by the famous Greek composer Vangelis Papathanasiou.
The models were also wearing jewelry provided by Bulgari, which transported some of its most exceptional pieces to Greece specifically for the charitable event.
The fashion show was attended by some of Greece’s most prominent members of the show business world and other notables, including Anna Maria, the former Queen of Greece, as well as Greece’s former Princesses Tatiana and Theodora.
More than 200 reporters representing the world’s most well-known media covered the gala, highlighting the importance given to the charitable event.
