Leaders in Greek Super League Continue With Away Wins (video)


All three teams that lead the race for the title in the Greek Super League, Olympiacos, Xanthi and PAOK, scored important victories away from home over the weekend.
Olympiacos, maintained their winning form at the top of the Super League on Sunday thanks to a hard-fought 2-1 comeback win over Aris at the Kleanthis Vikelidis Stadium in Thessaloniki.
Aris led with Nicolas Diguiny, but Olympiacos responded before half-time with two goals in five minutes by Giorgos Masouras and Youssef El-Arabi.


Xanthi continued its unexpected good start in the season beating Panathinaikos 1-0 in Athens on Saturday. Xanthi claimed a priceless away win thanks to Jordan Faucher’s late goal in added time.

Third-placed PAOK defeated Asteras at Tripoli 2-1 on Sunday. A goal by the league’s top scorer Karol Swiderski and an own goal by Angel Martinez Ortega gave the reigning champion a 2-0 lead before Dani Suarez pulled one back for the host.

AEK and Larissa shared the spoils of a goalless draw at the AEL FC Arena on Saturday in a match which saw both sides miss their fair share of chances to score.

Lamia hosts Panetolikos on Monday.
