Another car crash involving illegally smuggled migrants took place in Greece’s Evros region on Saturday.
According to initial information from the local police, a vehicle packed with illegal migrants overturned near the town of Kornofolia, close to the Greek-Turkish border.
Following the accident, their smuggler disappeared and all the migrants were transferred to the Hospital of Didimoticho, where none were found to have sustained any serious injuries.
This is not the first time that vehicles carrying undocumented migrants or refugees has crashed in northern Greece.
Earlier in October, three people died in a similar crash near Thessaloniki.
