Greek tennis star Stefanos Tsitsipas won the first match of the Nitto ATP Finals in London on Monday afternoon, beating Russia’s Daniil Medvedev.
The 21-year old Greek star beat the Russian athlete with a score of 7-6 (7-5) and 6-4 at the O2 Arena in the British capital.
Medvedev currently stands at number four in the ATP rankings, while Tsitsipas is in sixth place.

Speaking to reporters after the end of the match, Tsitsipas said that there were so many Greek flags in the stadium that he felt as if he was playing in Athens.
This is the first time the Greek athlete has taken part in this tournament, as his career has shot toward the stratosphere and he makes steady progress toward the very top of the world’s tennis elite.
