WWII Hand Grenade Found in Abandoned House in Athens

A hand grenade dating all the way back to World War II was discovered on Thursday in an abandoned house in Athens.
The hand grenade was found by a worker inside a house in the downtown neighborhood of Exarcheia in Athens, during maintenance and renovation works.
The worker who found the explosive alerted the police and a unit of the Greek Army’s bomb disposal experts rushed to the scene.
For security reasons, police officers cordoned off the entire street where the hand grenade was found and now Greece’s state security is investigating the issue.
