PAOK Keeps Pace With Olympiacos After Win Over AEK

PAOK kept up the chase of Super League leader Olympiacos beating AEK on Sunday in a tightly contested game at Toumba stadium.
The champion defeated AEK 1-0 thanks to a second-half penalty kick by Adelino Vieirinha, while AEK has some serious complaints from the referee, asking for two penalties.
As a result of this victory, PAOK are still only one point behind league leaders Olympiacos, but AEK are now 13 points off the pace in third position. Niklas Hult and Marko Livaja were sent off for AEK during stoppage time.


Earlier on Sunday Youssef El-Arabi scored a hat-trick as Olympiacos hammered Lamia 4-0 away from home. The 32-year-old Moroccan forward started the party for Pedro Martins’ side with his opener in the 40th minute and later grabbed two goals, in the 51st and 81st minutes.
Sunday’s win stretched Olympiacos’ unbeaten start to the season to 18 matches which include 13 wins and five draws.
