Greek President Pavlopoulos Hospitalized With High Fever

The outgoing President of the Hellenic Republic Prokopios Pavlopoulos was admitted to the Onassis Cardiac Surgery Centre on Friday morning after experiencing severe symptoms attributed to a virus.
According to hospital sources quoted by the state-run AMNA news agency, the Greek President will stay in the hospital overnight in order to undergo a regular annual medical check-up, which was already scheduled.
Among the symptoms the President showed was a persistent high fever.
Earlier on Friday, the office of the Presidency of the Hellenic Republic announced that Pavlopoulos had been forced to cancel all meetings scheduled for Friday.
These included events with Stella Kyriakides, the European Commissioner for Health and Food Safety, and the Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah bin Faisal Al Saud.
