City of Naoussa to Organize Greece's First Winter Event for Disabled People

The municipality of the city of Naoussa in Central Macedonia announced recently that it will organize the first ”Know The Snow” event to offer a unique winter experience to one hundred disabled people.
The event will take place at the city’s 3-5 Pigadia Ski Resort on Mount Vermio on Sunday, February 9.
One hundred people with all types of disabilities will have the chance to enjoy the snow by using the resort’s snowmobiles or ski lifts, borrowing free skiing equipment from the resort if they wish. Or they can simply have fun in the snow or hike on the mountain’s many trails.
This is the first time such an event has ever taken place at a Greek ski resort where, for three hours, people with disabilities will be guided by skiing coaches, physical education teachers, winter sports athletes and volunteers.
With this opportunity, this municipality of Northern Greece would like to send a message of inclusion across the country, showing to the world that no disability is strong enough to stop people from doing and enjoying what they love.
The one-hundred registration spots for the 3-5 Pigadia event have already been booked by students and individuals from schools and organizations from the cities of Naoussa, Veria and the broader Imathia region.
