Clashes erupted on Wednesday evening in central Athens, outside of the Greek Police Headquarters in Attica between police officers and student demonstrators.
Thousands of students were protesting against police brutality as well as the conservative government’s new ”law and order” policy. According to the students, the Greek police have used excessive force recently as a result of the new administration’s stricter stance.

Protesters were demonstrating in particular against an incident which took place on Tuesday inside the premises of the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), where a police officer dressed as a civilian took his gun inside the University.
Police have made seven arrests in total so far, and tear gas has been used in the nearby streets of the capital city.
