Death Toll From Influenza Rises to 83 in Greece



Six additional individuals died in Greece this week from the annual winter outbreak of influenza, raising the total number of fatalities this season to 83, Greece’s National Public Health Organization (EODY) said on Thursday, in its weekly updates on the situation.

In this week’s epidemiological report, the EODY noted that 48 of the influenza victims this season were male and 38 were female.

Seventy-seven of those who succumbed to the annual flu outbreak belonged to population groups with a higher risk of being infected and presented serious symptoms.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, Greece recorded 21 additional Covid19 coronavirus cases, bringing the total number infected by that virus to 31.
