Two Greek Villages Go Into Lockdown Amid Coronavirus Cases

Two villages in the region of Kozani, northern Greece, went on lockdown after authorities discovered an above-average number of coronavirus cases there.
The villages of Damaskinia and Dragassia in the Voio municipality, will be closed off from the rest of the region and only health professionals and food transportation vehicles will be allowed in.
In the neighboring region of Kastoria, Deputy Governor Dimitris Savvopoulos pointed out that there have been two fatalities and 14 cases of coronavirus.
“This is of great concern to us in the coming days,” he added.
He stressed that the region should be quarantined and an operation plan would therefore be put in place to prevent the further spread of the virus.
Local officials have also expressed concern about the number of cases of coronavirus among doctors and nurses at the local hospital.
