According to Greek police, an entire arsenal of heavy weapons was found on Thursday morning at a house in Sepolia, central Athens, during an ongoing operation by the Counter-Terrorism Service.
Additional weapons were also found in another house in Exarchia, which are believed to be related to the Kurdish group “DHKP-C.”
As announced by the Greek police, the operation is being carried out in cooperation with the National Intelligence Service (EYP).
More than twenty individuals have been brought in for questioning so far in the investigation.
The weapons were hidden in an underground tunnel located beneath the apartment in Sepolia.
Explosive ordnance experts from the police and the Greek Army are already on the scene, looking for yet more weapons which may be on the premises.
The Greek police are expected to brief reporters about their findings after the end of the extensive operation.
