Greek Deputy Minister for Civil Protection Nikos Chardalias announced on Friday a series of new, even stricter measures which will come into force this weekend to limit the spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus.
The sailing of private boats and yachts will be prohibited from Saturday morning onward, while all flea markets will have to shut down on Saturday across the country.
The latter will be enforced just for this Saturday, March 21.
From Monday onward, all flea markets will be able to resume; however, they will have to operate with half the number of their usual merchants.
These vendors will have to keep a distance between each other in order to be able to sell their produce.
Additionally, supermarkets will be able to have only one customer per 15 square meters, instead of one per ten square meters.
Among other new measures is the ruling which the regional governor of Attica announced on Friday. This ensures that all parks in Attica, including those in the city of Athens, will remain closed to the public from Saturday onward.
